So here are the first four. The first two are the view from the hotel window in Singapore and next two were taken from the Sentosa Island cable car.

Ami Cultural Village

Here are some pictures I took at the Ami Cultural Village near Hualien on the east coast of Taiwan. The Ami are the native people of the Hualien area. There are a number of tribes of native peoples around Taiwan or as the Chinese of Taiwan call them, The Mountain People.

Baiyang Trail pictures

Here is the last set of the pictures I took on the Baiyang Trail in the Taroko National Park in Taiwan.. These pictures show some of the waterfalls at the end of the trail.

The water was very loud here. The waterfall in the second picture was one of two rivers that flowed into a large pool, where they combined and flowed over another waterfall. The third picture was taken from the bridge in the first picture.

More Taroko National Park pictures

Here are some more pictures I took in the Taroko National Park in Taiwan. All these pictures were taken at the start of the Baiyang Trail which is a walking trail that winds it way up a narrow gorge, through a few man made tunnels to a set of waterfalls high in the mountains. The trail starts by going through a mountain in a very long tunnel, which you can see the entrance of in the second picture. The last two pictures were taken just outside the other end of the first tunnel.

Taroko National Park

These pictures were taken in the mountains of Taiwan at the Taroko National Park visitors centre, just north of the city of Hualien.

In the second and third pictures can be seen a pagoda and just below that a statue in the mountain monastery at Taroko.

Hualien Pictures

These pictures were taken from our hotel room window in the city of Hualien on the east coast of Taiwan. The street in the first picture had a great little noodle house restaurant the first time we were in Taiwan. They served the best noodle meal in Taiwan. Unfortunately when we came back this time they were gone.

The second picture shows the mountains behind the old Hualien train station. The gorge that can be seen in the mountains is just one of many along the coast in this part of Taiwan. The Taroko Gorge just to the north of Hualien has what many people say is some of the most spectacular scenery in Taiwan.

The third picture shows another view of the mountains behind the old Hualien train station.

The last picture is a view of the park in front of the old Hualien train station.

Keelung Temple

I took this photo of a temple that is located in the middle of the night markets in the city of Keelung in the north of Taiwan. This place was very crowded and noisy, but very interesting to see as well.

This is another picture of the Chiang Kaishek memorial compound in Taipei city. This was taken on a different trip to the previous pictures. There is a lot of people there at this time because it is only a couple of days after the Chinese New Year.

Here is a couple of pictures I took in Taiwan. The first one is of the National Palace Museum in Taipei. The building is based on the original National Palace Museum in the Forbidden City in Beijing. The museum holds what is probably the greatest collection of historic artefacts anywhere in the world. Mainland China claims they were stolen from China and should be returned, but Taiwan claims that they were rescued from the communists. I tend to side with Taiwan on this one. I think very little of the collection would have survived the Cultural Revolution in China if they had stayed there.

The second picture is of a Chinese Garden that is located next to the National Palace Museum.

The View from Santosa

Here is a picture I took on a trip to Singapore. It is a beach on Santosa Island. You can see that Singapore is a busy shipping port by all the container ships ruining the otherwise relaxing view of a tropical sunset.

I finally got around to scanning in some pictures.

This first picture is of the Singapore skyline, which I took on my first trip there. The picture was actually taken from the Singapore cable car.

The second picture here is of the cable cars heading toward Santosa Island, which is a large theme park/ holiday island. You could spend at least a couple of days or more exploring Santosa before you saw it all

In future I might put some more pictures or movies of Santosa on here.
